Watch Kendrick Lamar’s Incredible Grammys Performance Literally Set The Stage On Fire

Kendrick Lamar has wowed audiences with a spectacular and politically charged performance at the 2016 Grammy Awards, which also featured the debut of a brand new song.

Beginning his performance (below) shackled in chains on the set of a prison, Lamar broke free and performed his To Pimp A Butterfly album track The Blacker The Berry, before heating things up with a huge on-stage fire for fellow album cut Alright, which arrived with an African-themed set design but without the lyric, “Nigga, and we hate po-po / Wanna kill us dead in the street fo sho.”

Lamar went on to perform a new song, and the performance ended with the image of an outline of the African continent with “Compton” written on it. Catch the full performance in all its glory, below.

Nominated for 11 awards at this year’s Grammy’s Lamar has already taken home awards for Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance, Best Rap/Sung Collaboration, Best Music Video and Best Rap Album. He’s also up for Album of the Year, so keep up with the latest updates from the ceremony right here.
