Watch: Jimi Hendrix ‘People, Hell And Angels’ Sneak Preview
Written by Marc Zanotti on 29th November, 2012
Last week the word was out that the late, great Jimi Hendrix would be releasing one more album titled People, Hell and Angels. The album will consist of 12 previously unreleased tunes from arguably the greatest guitar player of all time and is expected to be out Tuesday, March 5, 2013.
At the helm of People, Hell and Angels is recording engineer, producer and longtime Hendrix collaborator Eddie Kramer. Having worked with Hendrix on his final record, 1968's Electric Ladyland, Kramer is back to complete what Hendrix started around 40-plus years ago.
In the sneak preview for People, Hell and Angels, Kramer excitedly talks about Hendrix’s work ethic, claiming that the songwriter was rarely out of the studio. Kramer eventually goes on to play a little piece of Somewhere, which, as reported, will be the lead single off People, Hell and Angels.
After playing the snippet, which sounds pretty darn amazing, Kramer notes, “That’s a fantastic example of Jimi’s amazing control of the wah-wah [pedal], the tone of the wah-wah – how that affects the whole song.”
