Another day, another of Jack White‘s solo performances making headlines. This time White, currently touring on the back of new album Lazaretto, was joined by two special but familiar guests during a Detroit performance, his Dead Weather bandmates Alison Mosshart and Dean Fertita.
As Billboard reports, White gave hometown fans a quick Dead Weather reunion with a performance of I Cut Like a Buffalo from 2009's Horehound (check it out below). White reportedly played another Dead Weather track, 2010's Blue Blood Blues, during the encore without Mosshart and Fertita.
On the live front, The Dead Weather — which also includes bassist Jack Lawrence — have been largely inactive since touring to support 2010's Sea of Cowards, though they are still together, even releasing a series of two-track singles as part of Third Man Records’ Vault subscription series.
Reports indicate the band plan on releasing their third album some time next year, most recently unveiling two preview clips of tracks from the forthcoming album. The songs will be available first as part of the forthcoming 21st installment of the Vault series, with a digital release scheduled later.
