Triple J’s Top 10 Albums As Voted By Listeners

Listeners of triple j have voted for their top ten albums of 2012, with half of the LPs on the list coming from Australian acts. It seems as though the public agrees with triple j’s decision to give the J Award for Album of the Year to Tame Impala, with Lonerism being voted in as the best record of the year.

Coming in at number two is The Black Keys’ El Camino, while The Rubens made quite an impression with their self-titled debut album taking out third. Ball Park Music rounded out the top with Museum. The inclusion of Museum makes it two years in a row that Ball Park Music have been voted into triple j’s top ten albums of the year. The Brisbane five-piece also appeared in 2011's top ten with their debut Happiness and Surrounding Suburbs.

Mercury Music Prize winners Alt-J made the list at number six, while Flume and San Cisco both cracked the top ten with their self-titled debuts. In fact, as reported by triple j, half of the top ten is made up of debut albums.
