Founding Blink-182 member Tom DeLonge has confirmed all the ongoing suspicions about a potential new album from his Angels & Airwaves project.
Taking to social media this week, the mercurial musician posted a photo of himself from some years back performing live. He cut straight to the chase, locking in a new record with A&A by captioning the post, “@angelsandairwaves new album in the works…”
DeLonge, who has also been busy with directorial duties for his forthcoming alien sci-fi film, posted cryptically to Facebook late last month saying that he had an upcoming announcement that “[would] not be what you are expecting”.
It’s hard to say as to whether this new A&A announcement was what he was alluding to, or whether he’s also got something else going on (who even knows with Tom these days?).
The news from the self-confessed Amy Shark fan and writer of multiple books about UFOs may not come as a complete surprise to all, as DeLonge did suggest back in May that new music from Angels & Airwaves was forthcoming — but hearing that a sixth full album is on the way will be music to the ears of fans worldwide.
The last album from A&A was The Dream Walker, released in 2014, but DeLonge has released two EPs with the band since then.
