Now that 2015 is coming to a close, tastemakers around the globe are trying to predict who you’re going to love in 2016. First it was the BBC and now Spotify have jumped on board with 15 artists they think are set to sky rocket next year.
The team at Spotify haven’t just pulled names out of thin air, they have used a “combination of both human curation by Spotify’s team of in-house music experts, and the analysis of millions of streams’ worth of music fans’ current listening data.” This data included tracking what Spotify’s most “influential” users are listening to.
The streaming service have put together a list specifically for Australia and New Zealand, naming Canberra three-piece SAFIA, classy crooner Meg Mac and enigmatic electronic producer Golden Features as ones to keep an eye on.
All those acts are already playing to large crowds in Australia, but there are a few new names to discover here like kiwi teen Tomston, bluesy 19 year-old Cloves and Future Classic’s latest signing WAFIA.
There are 15 acts in total and they have all been compiled into a handy Spotify playlist so you can sink your teeth into all of them at once.
