The Preatures’ 2016 Splendour set was the final Preatures performance from founding guitarist and key figure Gideon Bensen, which didn’t make the occasion easy for fans. As reported by triple j, the Splendour crowd exploded with applause and love for the dude:

Some people, it seems, may have got the wrong idea from the crowd’s display of affection, but the band were quick to put such crazy talk to rest…
@KetanJ0 no way!

From here on, Bensen will be focusing on his solo career. Meanwhile, the bitterness of his last gig with The Preatures was balanced out by some sweet, sweet new tunage from the band, who performed a yet-to-be-released song which appears to be titled I Know A Girl (below), also confirming as much on socials.
Though we’ve only caught bits and pieces the track is shaping up to be a smooth slice of rock n’ roll, with frontwoman Issy Manfredi’s vocals sounding even more out-of-this-world than we thought possible.
There are no details just yet on any greater plans for the track, but it’s most likelythe first rumblings of a follow up to the band’s 2014 album Blue Planet Eyes.
Adding more strength to their Splendour game, The Preatures kicked off the weekend with a cheeky headline gig at Sydney’s Oxford Circus last week, for what would be their final hometown hoorah with Benson.
