CHECK OUT THE LATEST
Just months after former All Shall Perish singer Hernan “Eddie” Hermida was announced as the replacement for the late, great Mitch Lucker, US deathcore outfit Suicide Silence have revealed they will be heading Down Under for Soundwave Festival 2014.
The band made the self-confirm with the utmost subtlety and ahead of this Thursday’s official second announcement. Festival promoter and Australia’s most powerful music industry figure AJ Maddah told fans to expect the second announcement for “late” on Thursday, 7th November.
Suicide Silence posted the official Soundwave 2014 banner to their official Facebook page, much to the elation of their legions of Aussie fans. The post was accompanied with a similarly elated missive that simply read “SOUNDWAVEEEEEEE.”
It’s not yet clear if Suicide Silence are the mysterious “metal headliner” Maddah referred to on Twitter. New Jersey five-piece I Call Fives were revealed to be part of the second Soundwave lineup this morning, after being “leaked” on Twitter.
In his tweet, Maddah explained that the next lineup announcement will contain a band that is “Not so much a festival headliner, but a metal headliner to go along w Megadeth, etc.” Presumably this band won’t compare in size to headliner Green Day, but will serve as one of the bigger metal bands on the roster.
