Steve Albini Announced As Face The Music 2014 Keynote Speaker

The annual Face The Music conference will return to Melbourne for its seventh year this November and the organisers have announced that musician, alternative icon and producer extraordinaire Steve Albini as the 2014 keynote speaker.

Held over two days at Arts Centre Melbourne on November 14th and 15th, Face The Music has also revealed the first lineup of industry speakers for the 2014 event, including Artist Voice’s Dave Batty, Chris Hatzis of 3RRR, Unified’s Caleb Williams and Kirsty Rivers from APRA AMCOS.

Albini, the man behind Nirvana‘s In Utero, is a well respected figure in the international music community and a champion of independently produced work, separate from corporate interests. Along with Nirvana, he’s also worked with the Pixies, The Breeders and PJ Harvey and plays guitar in the band Shellac.

Face The Music has also announced that in a special session to mark their induction into the Music Victoria Hall of Fame, the four original members of celebrated Australian rock outfit Daddy Cool will come together at the conference to discuss their career and music.
