Big Day Out have announced that joining the 2013 lineup is robot three-piece Compressorhead. The ‘metal’ band reportedly hails from Germany and is made up of guitarist Fingers, bassist Bones and a four-armed drummer called Stickboy.
As you can see from the footage below, the robots wail away on their instruments like rock and rolling versions of Johnny 5 from Short Circuit. Playing a selection of well-known covers, Compressorhead look pretty damn cool and are sure to provide a unique visual experience at Big Day Out.
The mechanical trio will be joining the likes of Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Killers, Vampire Weekend, Band of Horses, Childish Gambino and Alabama Shakes. Big Day Out also recently announced the addition of Chow Town to this year’s festival.
