Red Hot Chili Peppers Shut Down Suggestions Of Axl Rose Or Dave Grohl Collabs

Shortly after the band returned to touring following Anthony Kiedis’ health scare last month, the Red Hot Chili Peppers have revealed in an interview at Germany’s Rock AM Ring that the band won’t be considering any collaborations with Dave Grohl or Axl Rose anytime in the future.

Despite the fact that Flea has gone on record saying that music was better in the ’90s, and that rock is dead, the band won’t be calling on legendary rockers Rose or Grohl to revive it. In the interview Anthony Kiedis was asked if the band had considered working with Foo Fighters frontman Grohl, to which he replied “No, not gonna happen. I admire his work, I love his drumming a lot, [but] no collaboration.”

Chad Smith was pressed later in the interview on whether there was any chance of the band working together with Axl Rose. “No,” said Smith. I love Guns N’ Roses, but he seems a little difficult.”

The Chilis recently released the title track and second effort from their forthcoming album The Getaway. The band have also already begun to preview their 11th studio album in their recent live shows, and the 13-track record is being touted for a June 17th release.
