There’s now just over a week to go until Big Day Out organisers unleash their weapon of a line up, but that hasn’t stopped Triple M’s resident crystal ball reader Nui Te Koha from throwing his two cents into the mix. The presenter has gone as far as to publicly lock in Pearl Jam’s involvement in the festival, though he’s fallen short of confirming any of the other rumours.
Nui has a habit of being pretty hit or miss with his predictions but Pearl Jam are a red hot pick to be involved in the festival as one of the three “white whales” that organisers have proudly bagged. As for the other two, even Nui can’t be 100% sure, but he’s feeling good about two of his picks so far:
“There’s lots of talk on the internet going around about it and I’m gonna lock it in – Pearl Jam… Blur, we’ve rumoured them, and The Cure, we’ve rumoured them. I’m going to keep those at rumours, but Pearl Jam is good enough.”
Pearl Jam really do make sense given the buzz surrounding the band as they prepare to released their forthcoming 10th studio album Lightening Bolt. The lineup will drop Wednesday, 31st July around 8pm AEST so we will know how close Nui is by then. By all accounts, we can set our hopes high as this is expected to be a doozy.
