Northlane & In Hearts Wake Release Surprise Joint EP, ‘Equinox’

Ahead of their dual-headlining tour later this year, good mates Northlane and In Hearts Wake have today dropped a surprise collaborative EP.

The EP is called Equinox, and has officially been released today. The collaborative effort has been almost three years in the making, and was recorded in secret with producer Will Putney in Melbourne back in January.

“All three tracks are designed to be played as one song, and they each feature both bands,” outlines a Facebook post announcement from label UNFD.

“Working closely with so many passionate individuals has had its creative challenges and its beneficial learning curves,” revealed In Hearts Wake’s Jake Taylor. “But like all things that are born to thrive, the Equinox journey has proven both abundant and powerful, showing what can be achieved when we work together.”

Northlane guitarist and primary songwriter Josh Smith said the project was a “monumental challenge… We’ve never attempted anything like the Equinox project before. It’s quite a tall order to fuse two bands together to create art, but the whole process felt synergistic and I believe that the result is greater than the sum of the parts,” he said.

Equinox is available both as a digital download and a vinyl release – limited to 600 units worldwide.
