Noel And Liam Gallagher Say ‘Definitely Maybe’ To 2014 Oasis Reunion

An Oasis reunion tour could be closer to fruition than previously thought, with sources close to both Noel and Liam Gallagher saying the brothers are currently in talks with promoters to reunite next year for the 20th anniversary of their debut album Definitely Maybe.

The Daily Mail reports that, should the reunion take place, it will happen during August at Knebworth, the scene where Oasis shifted a crazy 300,000 tickets in what was to become the fastest selling rock concert in UK history back in 1996. The source adds, “If the gigs happened, they would perform Definitely Maybe from start to finish.”

Previously, Noel has vehemently played down rumours that there would ever be a reunion, going as far to say it’s never going to happen “even if all the starving children in the world depended on it”.

Liam, however, feels differently. Back in June, the younger Gallagher said that he was open to a reunion show, claiming that he’d “do it for nowt, but if someone’s going to drop a load of f**king money, I’d do it for that too.”

Liam’s current project Beady Eye has become far less financially successful than Oasis, and considering the 40-year-old is in the midst of a pricey divorce from Nicole Appleton, enlisting the help of £500-an-hour lawyer Fiona Shackleton, he may just need the cash.

The brothers have had well-documented bad blood since the band dismantled in 2009 following years of tension. At the time, Noel commented, “I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer.”
