Nick Oliveri, the former bassist of Queens of the Stone Age, has reunited with Josh Homme to lend his vocals to the upcoming QOTSA album. As reported, the news came from Oliveri’s current band Mondo Generator’s Facebook page.

The status update is doubly exciting for fans of QOSTA and Kyuss, with the post reading: “NEWS: Nick has re-joined Kyuss, and has recently recorded his vocals on a new Queens of the Stone Age song! Stay tuned.”

Based on the confirmed collaborations, QOTSA’s currently untitled follow-up to 2007's Era Vulgaris is set to be something special. The first big addition to the band was the return of Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl. Grohl, who played drums on 2002's Songs for the Deaf, is back to fill in the void left by former QOTSA drummer Joey Castillo, who recently split from the band.

Nine Inch Nails frontman and How to Destroy Angels member Trent Reznor also recently confirmed his involvement with the new QOSTA LP. With the return of Reznor – who worked with Homme on title track for Era Vulgaris (song not included on the original release) – Grohl and Oliveri, the new QOTSA album could be one of the most definitive releases of 2013.
