It has been confirmed that Babyshambles will be following up their 2007 full-length album Shotter’s Nation. As reported Bassist Drew McConnell has told NME that the album is definitely on the way, though not too much is known about the forthcoming material.
According to McConnell, frontman Pete Doherty originally set out to write a follow-up to his 2009 solo release Grace/Wastelands but invited McConnell as well as producer Stephen Street around the moment the material started sounding more like something Babyshambles would play.
Since their previous drummer Adam Ficek departed in 2010, Jamie Morrison will be handling the skins duties, but the album will see the return of original guitarist Mick Whitnall, keyboard player Stephen Large and John Robinson.
This could be the result of rumours that kicked up last July after Doherty was spotted with ex-bandmate Carl Barat, with the pair meeting up in both Thailand and Paris.
