Mumford & Sons Member Signs The Trouble With Templeton To UK Label

Brisbane outfit The Trouble With Templeton is the latest band to hitch their wagon to UK indie record label Communion. The band managed to prick up the ears of Mumford & Sons member Ben Lovett who brought the band aboard the label, which Lovett co-founded.

Interestingly enough, The Trouble With Templeton isn’t the first Aussie band to make the cut. Lovett is loud and proud about his love affair with Australian music. Already, the label looks after releases from Gotye, Boy and Bear and Matt Corby and pumped tours from Sarah Blasko and Julia Stone.

“Communion has become a home to a bunch of great Australian acts and what we haven’t been able to sign to the label, we are putting on their gigs. I do seem to have a fondness for Australia and its music,” Says Lovett

Though it seems not everyone is as optimistic about the Aussie-dominated roster. Communion has copped some heat from UK fans over their decision to focus so keenly on our music, but Lovett seems undeterred and pushed on to release The Trouble With Templeton’s single Six Months In A Cast.

The Trouble With Templeton’s debut UK release is expected to be facilitated through the label. With their latest album Rookie released in Australia today and new single You Are New doing the rounds, they’re already attracting a whole lotta buzz.
