Details for the 2014 Big Day Out festival are slowly unveiling, with the latest info coming from Big Day Out CEO Adam Zammit. Zammit recently took to Twitter to reveal that the 2014 incarnation of Australia’s most treasured music event will cost more but, to compensate, will feature more headliners.
The tweet, which read “$20 more than last year but an extra headliner. 2 of our headliners have never played an Australian festival,” was in reply to a fan who noticed the elevated price in a venue application put before the Adelaide City Council. “Tickets will cost approximately $185“, it read.
Speculation about the headliners is mounting, though festival promoter Ken West has confirmed that it won’t be Jay-Z, Kanye West nor former headliner Neil Young.
Earlier this week a poster with details about the event was accidentally pasted up in Melbourne, revealing info ahead of schedule and confirming that the first lineup announcement would take place on Wednesday, 31st July.
Director of Marketing & PR for Big Day Out Johanna Greenway issued a statement confirming the details on the poster, saying that the info was correct and that they “were to go up Monday”.
