Moon Duo Announce Australian Tour Next March
Written by Mike Hohnen on 19th November, 2012
Following announcements of separate tours from both Dinosaur Jr. and The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion comes word that San Francisco’s Moon Duo will be touring, intertwining their shows with both of the aforementioned tours.
Circles marks the most current release from the group, born as a side project for Wooden Shijps guitarist Ripley Johnson and Sanae Yamada. Circles is the end result of an extended period of isolation within the vastness of the Rocky Mountains. Combining the electronic hum and transistor fuzz of shoegazing Suicide with some good old American Rock ‘n’ Roll, Circles is the latest of high quality releases from the pair.
Forming in 2009, Moon Duo broke through with their 2009 7?, which featured a tip-of-the-hat to Aussie outfit Scientists with a rendition of Set It on Fire. Dense and unstructured, Circles is set to get new life in a live setting, something you will see for yourself come March.
