Members Of Gorillaz And Klaxons Collaborating On A New Musical Project

So by most accounts we’re expecting Gorillaz‘ new album early in 2017, and now in even more good news for fans of the group, one of its members has revealed he’s been working on a new project with a member of British outfit Klaxons.

Gorillaz’ real-life guitarist Jeff Wooton curated a live performance at Abbey Road Studios with Jamie Reynolds of Klaxons this weekend, and whilst there he told NME that they’d been collaborating on a new project together.

Wooton and Klaxons’ singer/bass player Reynolds wanted to take their own differing musical backgrounds to create new music together, which Wooton suggested is likely to be released in 2017.

“We’re taking different backgrounds and cultures and trying to push music forward,” said Wootton. “It’s a perfect time now with what’s going on in the world and everything else.”

“Me and Jamie have great chemistry together and it’s really magical. It’s very fast. You think of great bands like The Smiths and it’s always fast. This has certainly been like that. Even being asked to play tonight, it feels like something’s bubbling.”
