Madonna’s Cameo-Stuffed New Music Video Is Here, But Not Everyone Is Impressed

Madonna has just unleashed her new music video for the self-congratulatory single, Bitch, I’m Madonna, which features cameos by just about every big-name celeb who wasn’t already in Taylor Swift’s video for Bad Blood.

Her Madge-sty wheeled out the big guns for the clip, noted by our friends at The Fashion Spot to be a not-so-subtle dig at T-Swizzle, seeing her noirish allstar teaser posters, and raising her a Kanye West, Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj, Beyonce, Miley Cyrus, Chris Rock and Rita Ora.

However, the video itself has already been set upon by the internet’s legion of haters, taking aim at Madge’s age, overly sexual performances, and seemingly desperate attempt to prove she’s still with it.

The clip’s high profile cameos have also been criticised for being a cheap attention grab, with the majority of its stars phoning it in (literally, as in, shooting the footage from wherever they were at the time) for the better part of one or two seconds to mouth the lyrics of “Bitch, I’m Madonna” before disappearing back into the sequin-studded ether.

To make matters worse, the video’s exclusive launch on streaming service, Tidal, was by all accounts, a fail.

As Fairfax reports, the clip’s premiere, which was largely expected to be a promotional kick in the pants for the embattled streaming platform, was instead marred by glitches.

Problems began immediately, with error messages and screen freezes happening so frequently that the company was forced to issue a public apology, before taking almost an hour to announce that the problems had been fixed.

The official music video for Bitch, I’m Madonna has now been released on YouTube for the rest of the world’s non-Tidal subscribers to behold in all of its intermittently star-studded glory, and also features some quick surprise cameos from Diplo, fashion designer Alexander Wang and Madonna’s sons Rocco and David.

Check it out below.
