She may have only just smote the charts with her long-awaited album Melodrama but the Lorde already has her divine sights set on album number 3. And she’s hinted that we could see a major musical departure.
Responding to a fan on Twitter who pointed out how often the Kiwi pop deity mentions “dancing” on her most recent record, Lorde promised that her next LP “will move firmly away from dancing” and “explore new worlds”.
wow lol i didn't realise it was at this level.. needless to say next record will move firmly away from dancing & explore new worlds :-)

Whether or not her Lordeship intends this shift away from the dancefloor to be musical or merely lyrical remains to be seen, but she’s making no apologies for making getting her groove on Melodrama’s central “thesis”.
“Right now i literally live to dance &i’m so proud to have written my thesis on it this time – it’s religion/therapy/ purgatory/heaven,” she added.

It comes after Lorde AKA Ella Yelich-O’Connor expressed pride at the success of her “great fuckin record” Melodrama and stuck it to her haters with a fiery and self-empowering post.
Hopefully we won’t have to wait the full four-years that passed between Pure Heroine and Melodrama to see her do it again.
