Listen: Pulp Release Studio Version of ‘After You’
Written by Mike Hohnen on 2nd January, 2013
Though technically After You isn’t a previously unheard track, Pulp fans can now experience the tune in an unheard quality. On Christmas, the band released the studio version of the tune, which featured on the 2001 album We Love Life.
Even though it was released, back in the day the track existed purely as a demo. LCD Soundsystem’s very own James Murphy was at the helm during production, breathing a lot of new life into the track.
Though the band broke up many years ago, they have returned to the live setting, playing shows as recently as July of this year and SS Coachella in Jamaica on December 19. We Love Life marked the last studio effort offered to fans, but hey, maybe they caught the bug again after re-recording this little ditty.
Pulp released the track at one minute past midnight on Christmas Day. As reported, they really know how to treat their fans. Take a little bo-peep below.
