Please welcome back to the stage Mr Davey Lane! Gearing up for the release of his maiden solo effort, The Good Borne of Bad Tymes, The Pictures‘ singer and You Am I gat man has revealed You’re The Cops, I’m The Crime, a sneak peak of what we can expect from the upcoming full-length.
The debut single demonstrates a cornucopia of influences, all interwoven into a fresh new vibe for Lane. He’s quiet clearly a multi-talented dude, mastering the art of 60s pop but not shying away from his more modern sensibilities. The intricate guitar is doused in effects but leaves plenty of room for the vocals. Weaving his tale of urban attachment, he reveals a deep lyricism.
No word yet on when we can expect to sink our fangs into more material, but you’ll be sure to hear some fresh tracks as Lane supports Bob Evans on his national tour. All good things come to those who wait so, for now, enjoy the brand-new jam of You’re The Cops, I’m The Crime.
