Kyuss Lives! To Become Vista Chino
Written by Marc Zanotti on 3rd December, 2012
Kyuss Lives! will be playing their final handful of shows while in Australia for Soundwave 2013. At least that’s the word from Pitchfork, who report that after the music festival the band will have a change of name and personnel.
After Soundwave Kyuss Lives! will become Vista Chino, and consist of John Garcia, Brant Bjork, Bruno Fevery and Nick Oliveri, who recently rejoined Kyuss Lives! after leaving the band in March. A debut album from Vista Chino is presently expected sometime in 2013.
As noted by Pitchfork, it’s unclear whether the name change is a direct result of a lawsuit filed by former Kyuss members Josh Homme (Queens Of The Stone Age) and Scott Reeder. In March Homme and Reeder accused their former Kyuss bandmates Garcia and Bjork of trademark infringement and consumer fraud for continuing the band under the name of Kyuss Lives!
