Josh Homme Says QOTSA New Album ‘Sounds Like You’re Running In A Dream’

Queens of the Stone Age’s main man, Josh Homme, has caught up with Zane Lowe on BBC Radio 1 to discuss the upcoming QOTSA album. As reported by Antiquiet, Homme gave a little insight, sometimes very little, into the making and direction of the highly anticipated follow-up to 2007's Era Vulgaris.
According to Antiquiet, Homme told Lowe that there have been, “a lot of struggles”, during the recording process but gave no specifics. Musically, Homme said that the new LP, “sounds like you’re running in a dream the whole time”, and that it’s, “deeper, richer and stranger” and lyrically “more vulnerable” than previous QOSTA records.
Finally, Homme explained that in the past when recording an album he attempted to “pull every trick I knew to wrap hopes in strangeness” but with what will be QOTSA’s 6th studio LP, Homme is changing direction. “The final trick I have is ‘no trick at all’.”
So far Dave Grohl, Trent Reznor and former QOTSA bassist Nick Oliveri have all been confirmed as contributing to the currently untitled album.
