Johnny Marr Adds Sideshows To Australian Visit

Legendary and obscenely prolific guitarist Johnny Marr has added two sideshows to his upcoming Australian trip, during which he’ll play dates at both Falls Festival and Southbound. The ex-Smith has now added dates in Sydney and Melbourne to his schedule.

The announcement follows Marr’s addition to the Falls and Southbound bills after their respective second-round lineup reveals. Marr will play all three Falls events in Lorne, Marion Bay and Byron Bay as well as a date in Busselton, Western Australia for Southbound. The additional sideshows will take place at the Corner Hotel in Melbourne and the Oxford Art Factory in Sydney during January.

A UK pop and rock icon, Marr is most famous for being the guitarist and musical driving force behind indie legends The Smiths, before going on to work with countless other musical giants including Electronic, The The, The Cribs, and Modest Mouse.

Marr’s latest release is his solo debut, The Messenger featuring the single Upstarts, which came out in February on Warner Bros. to wide acclaim.
