Janelle Monáe has revealed she hopes to tour Australia with New Zealand singer-songwriter Kimbra, after the pair were forced to cancel a co-headline tour of the country four years ago.
Monáe pulled out of the 2014 ‘Golden Electric Tour’ due to illness, after cancelling a Melbourne performance at the last minute.
In a newly broadcast interview with Double J, Monáe said she feels “so bad” about the cancelled tour, and “cannot wait” to come back to Australia.
“I really wanna do it with Kimbra, who I adore and love,” she said.
“Hopefully I can come back over there and make up for that… but I think that everything happens for a reason.”
Luckily for Monáe, Kimbra recently said she is in talks to tour Australia again in 2018, behind her latest album Primal Heart.
Monáe hasn’t toured Australia since 2012, and released her latest album Dirty Computer earlier this year.
“I hear that Australia has a lot of [Dirty Computers], so I will definitely be back there,” she told Double J.
