Here’s When You Can Expect The New Sum 41 Album To Drop

So are you ~Still Waiting~ for Sum 41‘s comeback album?

Well you won’t have to wait much longer, skumfuks.

The naughties punk-metal kings have issued an update on the progress of their long-awaited follow-up to 2011’s Screaming Bloody Murder, revealing that it’s set to drop this Aussie spring.

“It’s official! The new album will be coming out in the fall of this year. As we have more specific info, we’ll be sharing it with you, FIRST!” the band wrote in a message to fans who’ve donated to their official PledgeMusic campaign for their first LP in five years (via Rock Sound).

The Sums signed to iconic label Hopeless Records ahead of the disc’s release, so we’re sure it’ll be all killer, no filler.

“It’s crazy to think that we started this band 20 years ago and so much has happened, and it all happened really fast,” said frontman Deryck Whibley, who wrote, engineered and produced the album (and FYI is now fighting fit again following a toxic love affair with alcohol that literally almost killed him).

“When I look back at everything it still feels like it’s all so recent. I think this a good thing because it still feels like there is still so much to do…which is why I am excited for a new album and to be releasing it with Hopeless Records,” he said.

Sum 41 last played to Aussie crowds back in 2013 for Soundwave, and with a bit of luck, a new album will bring them back to our shores sometime soon.

PS from the look of their recent gigs at Vans Warped Tour, they’re already storming back through the party like their name was El Niño:
