Hellions Drop Epic Cover Of Green Day’s ‘Jesus Of Suburbia’

Hellions are amping us up for their forthcoming tour supporting US rock titans You Me At Six by dropping a walloping double-single combo.

Their latest musical one-two punch includes an anthemic cover of Green Day‘s 10-minute epic ‘Jesus Of Suburbia’ and their OG track dubbed ’24’, which features a surprise guest in the form of imminent tour buddy John Franceschi of You Me At Six.

“When the lads asked me to sing on the track I was more than game as I love what the song is about and the meaning behind it,” the singer says. “They are all great lads and it was a pleasure to be part of it.”

’24’ is taken from Hellions’ much-frothed 2016 album Opera Oblivia and it’s packing some heartfelt rap-punk ballad vibes.

“’24’ deals with the importance of being oneself, detailing the struggles of maintaining grace and patience in times of tumult,” explains Hellions’ guitarist Matt Gravolin.

“Josh added a new dimension to the song with his performance and to watch him do so was awe-inspiring, especially after spinning YMAS single ‘Give’ and eventually the entirety of their latest record ‘Night People’ repeatedly during the preceding weeks. We’re ecstatic to have been invited to share the stage with the boys in September and we’re counting down the days!”

Meanwhile, the Sydney lads’ turbo-charged cover of the American Idiot classic was originally recorded as part of Kerrang! Magazine‘s American Superhits all-star tribute to mark Green Day’s 30th anniversary.
