Hear Foo Fighters’ Third ‘Sonic Highways’ Song, ‘Congregation’

It’s Foo Friday, again, and the Foo Fighters have shared new track Congregation, the third cut from Sonic Highways, the band’s eighth studio album.

If lead single Something From Nothing was, at times, a little left-of-centre, then Congregation is straight-up Foos. It’s got a heart of pop rock, soaring guitar leads, Grohl’s growl, Hawkins pounding the drums, and an uplifting, rocking tempo. This is bound to be a favourite.

Congregation was recorded in Southern Ground studio in Nashville with the help of Zac Brown Band‘s main man Zac Brown. Each track from Sonic Highways was recorded in a different studio across the US.

The ways things are shaping up the Foos don’t plan to disappoint when Sonic Highways drops come Monday, 10th November, and Australian fans will have a few months to absorb all the new material before the band lands for their biggest-ever Australian tour in 2015.

In the meantime, sink this bad boy into your sound holes.
