Hear Augie March’s New Single ‘After The Crack Up’

Australian indie rockers Augie March recently announced their return to the scene, closing out a five year hiatus with their fifth studio album due towards the end of 2014. Today the band have unveiled the first song from the record, titled After The Crack Up.

The song’s name derives from a collection of essays and letters by American author F. Scott Fitzgerald that was compiled and edited after his death and serves as an insight into his mind during the lower periods in his life.

The song was produced by frontman Glenn Richards and mixed by Paul McKercher who reunited with the band after working on their first three albums Sunset Studies, Strange Bird and Moo, You Bloody Choir.

After an eventful 13-year journey from Shepparton to Hollywood and back, Augie March went on indefinite hiatus in 2009 following troubles with record labels. To the delight of fans, Augie March have now waved goodbye to music purgatory.

Over the past three years the band have quietly pieced together a new body of work in Glenn’s home studio in Tasmania, starting with a pool of over forty songs and gradually refining until they had the record they wanted. Augie March’s as yet untitled fifth studio album is due out towards the end of 2014.
