Hear Alt-J’s Seductive New Single ‘Every Other Freckle’

Alt-J have unveiled Every Other Freckle, the latest taste of their highly anticipated sophomore album, This Is All Yours. The third cut to be taken from their forthcoming new album, the track sees the band once again taking risks with single selection, which they recently discussed on BBC Radio.

“We pretty much learned from the reaction of the first record that we could get away with whatever we wanted musically,” Alt-J keyboardist Gus Unger-Hamilton explained to the BBC’s Zane Lowe (via NME). “That’s really represented well by the three songs we’ve released so far.”

Unger-Hamilton also discussed the band’s return to the live arena following the departure of founding bassist Gwil Sainsbury earlier this year. “We’ve all really missed playing live,” he said, explaining that the band’s upcoming tour would feature the addition of a touring multi-instrumentalist.

This Is All Yours is the follow-up to An Awesome Wave, the band’s Mercury Prize-winning debut, and comes out Friday, 19th September. The band has already treated fans to the album’s Miley Cyrus-sampling first single, Hunger of the Pine, and the “the least alt-J song ever,” Left Hand Free.
