Have A Listen To Vampire Weekend’s Gloomy New Track ‘Hudson’

A radio rip of new Vampire Weekend track, Hudson, has made its way online. Hudson is rather lugubrious, playing in a sombre fashion that somehow takes Vampire Weekend’s uplifting components and weighs them down. The track is crisp, at times sparring and wholly effective.

A deep cut from upcoming third studio album Modern Vampires Of The City, Hudson is the latest Vampire Weekend song to be unofficially released, following recordings of Obvious Bicycle and Everlasting Arms captured from the NY outfit’s Amex Unstaged performance.

Official singles thus far include Diane Young and Step, as well as more recently Ya Hey, which is more in keeping with Vampire Weekend’s traditional upbeat sound than Hudson but has a hint of dismalness (official music video included below).
