‘Grand Theft Auto V’ Soundtrack Details Leak Online

It’s been revealed that the creators of the latest installment of the Grand Theft Auto video game series are once again putting a strong emphasis on the music featured in the game, with info Grand Theft Auto V‘s official tracklist making its way online over the weekend.

Last Thursday, the PlayStation 3 version of the game was made available in some regions as a preload – a pre-release download to be unlocked when the game is released. Some resourceful fans have been digging away at the files, and now claim they’ve been able to rip information from the preload including a sneak peek at what what tunes will be soundtracking their carnage.

Those who frequent the game will understand the important role in-game radio stations play, and much like instalments past Grand Theft Auto V features an array of stations which cater for just about every musical taste, from classic hip hop, alternative rock, chillwave and of course country.

Artists such as Tupac, Snoop Dogg, NWA, TSOL, Muse, Rihanna, Black Flag and The Cult have given the nod of approval for their wares to feature in the game, making for one of the strongest soundtracks to come from the franchise yet. It’s also been revealed that one of the in-game stations is hosted by mash-up pioneers Soulwax.

The sheer number of tracks featured in the game is incredible, with the game featuring upwards of 30 hrs of audio in total (including sound effects), ensuring we don’t hear Journey’s Died In Your Arms Tonight 400 million times a session a la Grand Theft Auto 3: Vice City.

On top of the leaked soundtrack listing, what’s reported to be the loading screen theme for the game has its way onto YouTube (below), though many of the videos are being removed by GTA V publisher Take Two.

Of course, the cats from Rockstar refuse to comment on rumours or speculation, so we will have to wait until the official release Tuesday, 17th September to learn if any of this is actually real. You can check out the soundtrack list below, which is slowly being compiled over on Reddit.
