Ghostface Killah Working On New Wu-Tang Clan Album

Ghostface Killah has given fans hope that a new Wu-Tang Clan album might be a reality by November 2013. As reported by Rolling Stone, Killah recently revealed to MTV News that he had recorded tracks that are set to appear on a new Wu-Tang record.

When speaking to MTV, Killah said that while in the studio working on the sequel to his 2000 solo record Supreme Clientele he also spent some time making tunes intended for the follow-up to Wu-Tang’s 2007 album 8 Diagrams.

“While I was doin’ my ‘Supreme Clientele’ s**t, the second one, ‘The Wally Era’, I was doin’ joints for the next Wu album,” Killah reportedly told MTV.

The news comes after fellow Wu-Tang Clan member RZA’s publicly declared that he wants to reform the rap group in 2013 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Wu-Tang debut Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers). Last month RZA said he is eager to get the band back together again under the condition that he is able to ‘dictate’ the new album’s direction.

As noted by Complex, Killah is behind the move and believes that handing over the reigns to RZA will result in a successful release.

“He (RZA) said that November is the 20th anniversary and he’s trying to drop something in November … but he knows what it takes to go ahead and get there. He done studied the game now, he been around this s**t for 20 years. Longer than 20 years,” explained Killah.

“He (RZA) was like, if y’all can just believe in me and let me go ahead and do what I gotta do with this, we could just be outta here and make a s**tload of money,” Killah continued. “I believe in him because if it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t be standing here today, regardless of what. He was determined. He still got that same hunger for this Wu s**t.”
