It’s time to open up the diaries and scratch out whatever you have planned for Tuesday, 17th September – you have new plans now because Future Music Festival has announced it will be revealing its highly anticipated 2014 line up on said date and no one wants to be ‘that guy’ who missed it.
Already festival organisers have begun to tease us by throwing around words such as “blockbuster” in reference to the bill. After last weeks news of Mushroom’s acquisition of the festival, we’ve been promised plenty of new features for Future Music next year as well. The new arrangement should continue FMF’s move away from being a purely dance event, aiming to “amplify this diversification through access to Mushroom’s well-established resources and experience”.
“Blockbuster” is perhaps a fitting term, considering we already have possible news of the first artist on the lineup – Iranian/American DJ and producer Ali Shirazinia A.K.A Dubfire. There’s no official confirmation regarding this act, though considering he’ll be in town as of March 2014 he doesn’t have many options to avoid the show.
Depeche Mode are another strong suggestion to attend, with Deadmau5 and Skream also being thrown around possible contenders.
Other than that, Future top dogs have done a cracking job of keeping a lid on things, so we’ll most likely have to wait until Tuesday, 17th September before we get closure.
