Foo Fighters Just Added Some Emmys To Their Trophy Cabinet

Dave Grohl’s bulging trophy cabinet can add a couple of more shiny golden accolades to it, with the Foo Fighters’ acclaimed Sonic Highways documentary taking out two Creative Arts Emmys overnight.

The Sonic Highways HBO series was aired around the release of their latest album of the same name and documented the band recording one song each in eight iconic studios across America. The eight songs together made up the Sonic Highways LP.

Already adored by critics and Foo fans alike, the series has also now won awards for ‘Outstanding Sound Mixing For Nonfiction Programming (Single Or Multi-Camera)’ and ‘Outstanding Sound Editing For Nonfiction Programming (Single or Multi-Camera)’, at the Creative Arts version of the Emmys, beating back tough competition from doco Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck.

Having already won a butt load of Grammys, this means the Fooeys are now well on their way to E.G.O.T status, which is just the best.
