Written by Marc Zanotti on 17th December, 2012
Festival of the Voice is back to celebrate Australia Day at The Rocks on Saturday, January 26, 2013. Headlining the bill is the ARIA and Deadly Award-winning folk singer Gurrumul and Melbourne blues and roots man Ash Grunwald.
Joining Gurrumul and Grunwald are Sydney indie folk act Tin Sparrow, who are touring behind their newest single The Beast. Also appearing at Festival of the Voice are The Preatures. With both a frontman and frontwoman, the rock pop outfit recently wowed crowds when they opened up for San Cisco.
The lineup also boasts Sietta, Dubmarine, Battleships, The Margaret St. Project and Lolo Lovina Caravan, with the festival receiving high praise from Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority Creative Director, Michael Cohen.
“Festival of the Voice is the perfect opportunity for the Sydney community as well as our visitors to band together and celebrate Australia Day in The Rocks, one of the city’s most iconic sites,” said Cohen.
