Dune Rats And DZ Deathrays Are Making Music Together

Two of Australia’s greatest and grittiest rock bands DZ Deathrays and Dune Rats are making tunes together.

The Dunies took to Facebook to let everyone know that they were in the studio with DZ writing, “HAVIN A CRACK AT WRITING CHUNES WIV OLD MATES DZ Deathrays TODAY!!!! #cockrock.”

Earlier this year, Dunies and DZ toured together as support acts for Violent Soho on their massive national tour but they obviously decided they haven’t had enough of each other just yet. Later this year, they’ll also embark on a joint European tour just to solidify the friendship.

There’s no indication of where these new tunes will end up but we’re due an album from both parties. Dune Rats haven’t given us an album since their 2014 debut, although we did get a new tune Bullshit this year. DZ Deathrays’ last record Black Rat was released back in 2014 but they did also give us a new tune Blood On My Leather this year.

Dune Rats are no strangers to big-name collaborations. They recently were featured on Drapht’s Mexico and worked with LA punks FIDLAR on Bullshit.

Who knows what will become of their writing session with DZ but we can only hope it’s something massive.
