Here’s some good news to wake up to, Death Cab For Cutie fans – the Washington indie rock legends are currently in the studio working on what will likely be their eighth full-length studio album, the follow-up to 2011's Codes and Keys.
According to Rolling Stone, Ben Gibbard and company are laying down new material in a Seattle recording studio as we speak. The band have seemingly confirmed this, yesterday posting a picture to Instagram of a rack of guitars and basses with the caption ‘Paintbrushes. #inthestudio #deathcab’. This follows news that the outfit will be reissuing their seminal Transatlanticism album later this month to mark it’s tenth anniversary.
Gibbard has certainly been a busy bee in 2013. Earlier in the year, the singer got back together with Jimmy Tamborello to revive their much-loved project, The Postal Service, for a massive tour, also to celebrate their 10-year anniversary – the release of their only album, Give Up.
