Dave Grohl Discusses The Possibility Of More Nirvana Reunion Shows Without Kurt Cobain

Dave Grohl has been mulling over the possibility of getting the surviving members of Nirvana back together for more reunion shows.

Call it a crazy idea, but it’s already happened before — once with Paul McCartney fronting the band back in 2012 and again at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ceremony in 2014, when Grohl, Krist Novoselic and touring guitarist Pat Smear performed a bunch of the band’s hits with guest vocalists like Lorde and Joan Jett.

Now, speaking with The TimesGrohl says he’s not sure whether it could happen again.

“I got together with my old bandmates, Krist [Novoselic] and Pat [Smear, now with Foo Fighters], and guests including Joan Jett and Lorde, and we played those songs again,” he reminisced about the big night at the Rock Hall three years ago.

“It sounded just like it did, but of course with one thing missing. We hadn’t played a Nirvana set since Kurt died. Could we do that again? I don’t know.”

It comes after the Foo Fighter teamed up with the great Rick Astley to troll fans with a ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’ & Nirvana mashup.
