Aussie muso (and part-time meme) Daryl ‘The Horses’ Braithwaite is set to be inducted into the ARIA Hall Of Fame this November, in recognition of the decades he’s spent as one of Australia’s most popular singers.
“I feel very honoured to be inducted into the ARIA Hall Of Fame, in an industry that I started out in because I was so passionate about it,” says the great man himself.
“I loved music, and being associated with my band members at the time. It’s been a great journey and life through music, and all its associated with, especially with the public that I get to perform to. I am just completely thrilled to be accepted.”
Best known for his time in the band Sherbet and his solo cover of Rickie Lee Jones’ song ‘The Horses’ (yep, it’s a cover), 68-year-old Braithwaite is still touring up a storm, whether it be touring with John Farnham or performing at the upcoming Falls Festival events around the country.
Braithwaite will be inducted into the ARIA Hall Of Fame when the 2017 ARIA Awards take place in Sydney on Tuesday, 28th November. Catch up on all the night’s award nominees right here.
