At the recent Pitchfork Music Festival held in Chicago, Cut Copy debuted their brand new single Let Me Show You in one of the most expensive, hipsterish manners ever.
Setting up an on-site lathe, the band printed a very small run of the track, distributing them to whichever fans were lucky enough to get in first – of course, it was only a matter of time before it wound up online, and here we are.
Just 120 copies of the track were pressed, and once purchased you had the option of getting your name engraved on the item. So whilst Cut Copy have made an instant collector’s item, they’ve ensured it won’t go for much on eBay.
The 12-inch vinyl will most likely never be printed again, so this is one of the most old school single releases in some time and Jack White is probably a little cut he didn’t get to it first. Next time, Jack.
Onto the track itself – Let Me Show You follows on from the band’s previously aired new track Explorers and sees the electro poppers carry on in a fairly similar fashion. The dominant synths, the dream-like pipes of Dan Whitford – it’s got everything you need to get your Cut Copy fix. You can check it out below.
