Did social anxiety ever sound this good? We all know Courtney Barnett‘s charming, down-to-earth songwriting, but Stephen Colbert and his audience enjoyed a great performance of Barnett’s track Nobody Really Cares If You Don’t Go To The Party on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Wednesday.
Australia’s sweetheart Barnett and band played a meaty, uptempo version of the song, which caused Colbert to grin happily. Barnett did a touch extra for Aussie music by wearing a Midnight Oil shirt for the gig.
Nobody Really Cares features on Barnett’s 2015 album Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit, which was nominated for a Grammy award.
In other Courtney-related news, the humble muso and her friends at label Milk! Records will tour Australia throughout March this year.
