Courtney Barnett & Jet Among Latest Additions To Guitar Hero Live Playlist

A rifflord’s bonanza of new songs have been added to the increasingly monster playlist for the new Guitar Hero Live game, including two by Australian artists.

Now-disbanded Aussie rockers Jet have made the cut with Are You Gonna Be My Girl?, alongside Melbourne songstress Courtney Barnett and the deadpan stylings of her Pedestrian At Best.

Barnett is the latest in a long line of eclectic additions to the revamped Guitar Hero playlist which, on top of more traditional riff-driven rock and metal acts like Judas Priest, Pantera and System Of A Down, also features the likes of Skrillex and The Lumineers.

Jet and Barnett aren’t the first Aussies to get the Guitar Hero treatment, either, with fellow homegrown heroes Wolfmother and Angus & Julia Stone featuring in the last round of inclusions.

The updated list now features songs from White Zombie, Korn, Rage Against the Machine, ZZ Top, Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Strokes, alongside Calvin Harris, Bruno Mars and Carrie Underwood (yep, that country singer who won the fourth season of American Idol).

Purists who feel dismayed by the strange new additions to the Guitar Hero world can rest assured that the rest of the playlist reads like a Soundwave best-of.

According to Rock Sound, those who pre-order the game will even be treated to three exclusive new songs by SW13 headliners, Avenged Sevenfold.

Guitar Hero Live will also feature a bunch of new upgrades when it’s released on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U and mobile this December. View the soundtrack and its new additions, below.
