Coldplay Team Up With Avicii On ‘A Sky Full of Stars’

Coldplay have already previewed more than half of their new album, Ghost Stories, ahead of its May 19th release, having dropped five of the record’s nine offerings. And now for their latest single the band have unleashed A Sky Full Of Stars, an unexpected collaboration with EDM star Avicii.

The track further highlights the the synth-heavy, electronic soundscapes first previewed on the album’s other single Midnight. The song begins with frontman Chris Martin crooning along to a heartfelt piano ballad before Avicii’s signature fist-pumping electronics envelop the chorus.

The band has also launched a collaboration with various libraries around the world, instating a scavenger hunt for copies of Ghost Stories song lyrics hidden within books in library stacks across nine countries. The band is currently posting clues on Twitter regarding the locations, and are encouraging fans to follow and search for lyrics using the hashtag #lyricshunt.

The lyric sheets, handwritten by Chris Martin and placed in envelopes, will be inside various ghost story books. One set includes a “Golden Ticket” for a free trip to see Coldplay at Royal Albert Hall on July 1st.
