Chris Cheney’s Marshall Guitar Amp Up For Sale
Written by Kiel Egging on 15th January, 2013
If you’re a fan of The Living End, need a new guitar amp, and have a bit over $3000 on you, your eBay guilty pleasure purchase of the week is right here.
Frontman Chris Cheney is selling his used 1976 100-watt Marshall Guitar Amp, as he has an identical one already sitting at home in the garage.
The amp – described as being “well looked after…very tough and loud” – was used by Cheney in the studio for several of the band’s albums, and also on tour for live performances between 2002 and 2009.
The highest bid is currently at $3,150 with a bit over a day to go. The lucky bidder will also have to pick up the item in South Melbourne, but whether they’ll be picking up their new possession from Cheney himself (considering he now lives in Los Angeles) is unclear. The item’s seller is listed as ‘crucicalmusicaus’ – which points an obvious link to the band’s management company, Cruical Music.
The Living End recently finished their mammoth Retrospective tour – where they played week-long residencies (or longer) in all the capital cities, performing one of their six albums in full each night. The band also filmed some of their Melbourne shows for what is likely to be a DVD release later this year. Click here to check out reviews from the Melbourne leg of the tour.
