Chris Carrabba “Slowly” Bringing Dashboard Confessional Back

Dashboard Confessional songwriter and head honcho Chris Carrabba has confirmed he is “slowly” bringing back the project and is “excited” about its future. Carrabba made the announcement via Twitter, having spent recent years focusing on his Americana group, Twin Forks.

Carrabba’s comments came as Dashboard Confessional took the stage at the US Silopanna Music Festival in Maryland over the weekend, alongside The Flaming Lips, Matt & Kim and more. Carrabba was also there to take the stage with Twin Forks, who unveiled a self-titled LP this year.

“As we slowly bring [Dashboard Confessional] back I find myself listening to Hell On The Throat,” Carrabba began on Twitter, in what appeared to be an unfinished thought. “After time away I couldn’t be more excited about today’s show and DC’s future, whatever that may be,” he added.

It’s not yet clear what exactly Carrabba has in store for Dashboard Confessional, a project that started as a solo venture for the Florida musician in 1999, before developing into a full band and breaking through with their 2003 album, A Mark, a Mission, a Brand, a Scar.

The band are also set to take the stage at Riot Fest in Chicago this September. Dashboard Confessional were last in Australia in 2012, on the back of the deluxe re-issue of the band’s first album, Swiss Army Romance. Carrabba toured Australia with Twin Forks in December last year.
