Bullet For My Valentine Will Tour Wearing The Cremated Remains Of Two Fans

In a touching if not slightly morbid tribute, Bullet For My Valentine have revealed plans to perform live wearing the ashes of two of their deceased fans.

The Welsh heavy metal act are scheduled to embark on a North American tour alongside Slipknot and Lamb Of God over the next few months, and will reportedly take turns wearing pendants containing the cremated remains of 18-year-old James Simmons and 21-year-old Corran ‘Coz’ Powell, who tragically passed away in a car crash last year.

As The Mirror reports, the mother of Corran, Gennie Powell, was touched by the news. “It’s amazing this is happening, I really can’t describe how I feel about it – it’s a lovely gesture”, she said. Powell also explained that her sons’ remains would be kept in a piece of jewellery shaped like a cog from the video game Gears Of War, as he was “A hardcore gamer and he had a very impressive score”.

While James’ father, Mike Simmons, added: “Music really was Coz and James’s life. James was a big fan of Bullet For My Valentine, Slipknot and My Chemical Romance.”

Meanwhile, Bullet For My Valentine recently recruited new bassist Jamie Mathias after longtime slapper Jay James left the band, ahead of the release of their brand new album, Venom, this August.

Frontman Matt Tuck has described the new LP to NME as “Easily the most aggressive record we’ve ever done”, adding that “Lyrically it will no doubt touch a nerve with a lot of people that listen to it.”

“I cannot express enough how proud I am of it,” he added, “And can’t wait for everyone out there to hear it too. We’ve reinvented who we are and are ready to take on the world once more.”
